Fall District Meeting Announcement
The Manitoba Sheep Association Board of Directors are pleased to announce details surrounding its District Meeting, being held in a virtual format. Please see info below regarding the meeting as well as information regarding the 2021 elections.
In addition to the business of the meeting, the MSA is pleased to welcome Manitoba Agriculture staff who will walk members through the new Government Feed Aid program – The Livestock Feed and Transportation Drought Assistance. The presentation will focus on the details of the program as well as the steps involved in applying.
This meeting will serve as an opportunity for the MSA to give a brief update, for members to raise any suggestions for resolutions as well as for district elections
MSA 2021 Annual General Meeting
The MSA Board will attempt to host a hybrid Annual General Meeting in which members can either attend in person or electronically via zoom. Details are still being worked out and a program of speakers in addition to the business meeting is being finalized. Stay tuned for more info. For now, please save the date as per the info below!

2021 ELECTIONS –
The following district representatives will be up for election:Eastern District – 1 Year Term
Southwest District – 2 Year Term
Additionally, the Board will have one director at large position up for election.
If you are interested in putting your name forward for any of these positions, you must let the MSA office know by September 22nd, 2021. No names will be able to be put forward from the floor at the District meeting or AGM – all nominations must be received prior to the deadline.

The MSA is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a virtual opportunity for members to participate in the ‘Getting Started in Sheep’ workshop as per the details below.
March 25th – 27th, 2021
facilitated by Gord Schroeder over the Zoom Platform
Times:
March 25th – 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
March 26th – 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
March 27th – 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Cost: $175/individual or $300/couple
Course is limited to first 25 registrants. Participants will be provided with full course materials in printed form prior to the course dates.

This virtual course will cover the basics of getting started in the sheep industry. It is designed for those who are looking at getting into sheep and those who are already in the business on the beginner level. To allow for a positive learning experience course enrollment is limited.
Presenter Bio: Gord has been heavily involved in the sheep industry for over 35 years, 28 years as a large flock lamb producers and 22 years working as the Executive Director for the Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board. He brings a wealth of experience from both the production and industry organizational operations side. Gord’s goal is to share his experience and help individuals get a good start raising sheep.
