The MSA will not be hosting the Show and Sale in 2025 in Minnedosa, MB.

The Manitoba Sheep Association is pleased to be hosting in conjunction with the Canadian Sheep Breeders Association the All Canada Sheep Classic 2025 in Brandon, MB July 10-12,25.

We hope that all Manitoba Sheep producers will join us welcoming all exhibitors from across Canada to Manitoba.

The MSA is please to be adding some other classes to the Ag Ex Market Lamb Show in 2025.

October 29- November 1, 2025 in Brandon, MB.

The MB Sheep Association held its first annual Jackpot Market Lamb Show in conjunction with Ag Ex  on October 28 & 29 at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, MB.

Here are the results:

Grand Aggregate Champion – Lot 22, John Lewis – $3000

Reserve Champion – Lot 42, Jo Walker – $1500

1st place overall (judging) – Lot 22, John Lewis – $1000

Fan Favourite – Lot 36, Daniel Goodsman – $1000 (generously Donated to Stars Ambulance)

Highest Scoring Lamb Determined by Ultrasound – Lot 22, John  Lewis – $1000

Other finishers:

2nd highest scoring lamb determined by ultrasound – Lot 1, Toby Wessing

2nd highest fan favourite – Lot 22, John Lewis50/50 Winner – Joel Lewis

Details:

• Lambs have to be ewes or wethers weighing between 100 and 130 lbs. They will be shown in 3 weight splits ( TBD)
• There will be 4 ways to win $$$.
• Highest scoring lamb determined by ultrasound measurement (loin eye size, back fat depth) etc and correlation to grid scale-  $1000 prize
• 1st place as determined by an accredited judge.- $1000 prize
• 1st place as determined by fan selection – $1000 prize
• Grand Aggregate Champion will be the lamb that collects the most points through the 3 different selection methods – $3000 prize
• Reserve Grand Aggregate Champion will be the second place lamb overall –  $1500 prize

Promotion/Sponsorship Opportunity!

The Manitoba Sheep Association is hosting this Jackpot Market Lamb Competition in conjunction with the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba’s Ag Ex, which is a major 4H & cattle show.

We are also running Manitoba Sheep Association’s annual general meeting, dinner, and workshops in conjunction with these events, all at the Keystone centre.

As a promotional/sponsorship opportunity around these events we are offering the chance to purchase advertising along with livestock entries. The promotional spots are one per entry and can be used to promote your farm, breeding stock, or another business, for a cost of $100+ GST.  Your stall card will include a 3×8 inch ad for this business/farm to be seen by everyone who passes through the barn at the event and also includes listing as a lot sponsor in Manitoba Sheep Association’s event catalogue that will be distributed electronically to all MSA members, all competition entries, and will be available in printed from to all attendees of all Manitoba Sheep Association events listed above.
