  •  MB Sheep Association will be taking part in Touch the Farm at the Red River Ex.   We will be looking for volunteers to help.  Please contact Eugene Sabot to arrange entrance passes.  June 13th to 22nd

  • Needing CSIP Tags?  The CCWG will be attending the Virden Show and Sale (Aug 8th/9th)  Order tags and any other sheep supplies in advance and take advantage of no freight (picked up in Virden)

  • Deadline for MB Ruminant Assistance Program (if you were not in CAISP) is June 2nd
  • Current Contact List for the MSA .  Please direct any concerns or questions to these Directors




  • Here is additional information, including Application forms for the Manitoba Ruminant Assistance Program.  If you participated in CAISP, the program is automatic.  If you were not, the short application form is required by the June 2 to be at your nearest MASC (Crop Insurance Office).
  • Canadian Sheep Federation announces Insurance Program for Bluetongue Disease in Sheep


  • The Manitoba Sheep Association would like to thank Sarah Lewis and her family for the time they spent at Through the Farm Gate during the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair.  We would also like to thank the producer volunteers that could also lend their time.  For Photos, Click here.

  • $14.7 Million Assistance Package to Support Embattled Cattle Producers  This Program is available to all ruminant producers, and that includes Sheep, Lambs and Goats.  Payments are automatic and will be based on eligible sales record on your CAISP information, and will be administered through MASC (Crop Insurance)  If you were not enrolled in CAISP, applications will be available early in April.          


It was through lobbying efforts by MSA, and CSF that sheep producers are being recognized when government programs are being offered. These organizations and their efforts on behalf of their producers are funded through the refundable checkoff when producers buy their CSIP tags.
