Spring Lambing  Seminar March 4, 2017 

 
Speakers: 
Dr. Wayne Tomlinson, Extension Veterinarian, MAFRD  Disease and Parasite Resistance and the upcoming changes of producer access to veterinary drugs
Dr. Reuben Neumier, Veterinarian  Preparing for spring lambing and managing lambing issues (will include lambing equipment, ewe and lamb nutrion, mal‐presentaons, castraon, injecons, hypothermia, etc).  This is a hands‐on experience.

Brian Greaves   Wool Preparaon...How to prepare your wool for shipping or showing MSA Update

Feeding Sheep: Seminar and Field Tour August 10, 2017 

 
 Cost: $40 each 
 
Time: 9:30 till 4 pm 
Rivers, MB, Royal Canadian Legion, 633-2nd Ave
 
A comprehensive look at feeding sheep haylage and sileage, basic sheep nutrition, managing pastures including polycrops, how to make haylage and sileage and feeding it to sheep, as well as practical advice from the producer panel, includes a field tour of polycrop test plots.

 Farm Tours This year MSA is planning to do a couple of farm tours in the summer, so producers can learn from other grazing and pasture management systems.  Locations and dates have not been finalized but will be soon. MSA will send out notices once these are finalized so you can put it on your calendars.
 
 
The AGM and Symposium
November 18, 2017, Portage La Prairie
This year's symposium will follow the last year's format. There will be a nutrition talk, Vet presentation, marketing and a presentation on the result of the parasite study that has been taking place on Manitoba sheep farms, and MSA Annual General Meeting and round table discussion at the end. MSA will keep you posted once details are finalized.
